An old lady was sitting in front of me in the subway today and I listened to the music on my iPod and didn’t care about the world around me when suddenly I noticed she was trying to talk to me. I took the ear pieces out and she asked me: “Why are you looking so serious? Did you have a bad day?” And I laughed, irritated, and said no, it was okay…a bit stressful but okay.” And when she saw me smile, she smiled back and said: “There you go girl, you should smile more often, it fits your pretty face better and a smile will make you think of other things than a stressful day.”
That was the sweetest thing someone ever said to me.
Almost a year ago this happened to me. Still I can’t forget this old lady, especially when I’m sad I think of her, wondering what she does.
